Of course, it’s easier to live and work in your native country, but still I’d love to live in a better place.
Proximity to the sea: There’s a river in the city called Kazanka (but it’s better not to swim in it) and Volga. There are many recreation areas and beaches around the city. Swimming in Volga in the first half of summer is nice.
Quite tolerate I guess.
There’s a feeling that Tatars have “green lights” everywhere. They also have a bad habit to speak Tatar in presence of Russians so that they do not understand anything. But of course, there are many good people among the Tatars.
Autumn is wet, cold and muddy. Winter is really cold but not long. In the last years cold weather takes place from the middle of January till the middle of February. The warmest month is July. September is quite cold already.
There’s a good choice of universities, education quality is good.
It is very hard to be treated in a good way in local hospitals. Doctors are absolutely indifferent. So it’s better not to be ill. For serious cases there are two big modern hospitals.
Russian. It’s useless to learn Tatar language because everyone speaks Russian.
The cost of gasoline is average compared to other Russian cities. The roads are in good condition. Public transport is well developed. However, drivers are very unpleasant. There are traffic jams in the morning and in the evening but they are not critical.
Travelling abroad: Going abroad is not forbidden.
Cost of life is rapidly growing. There are elite houses in the city center that cost a fortune. Mortgage is developed in the secondary market.
Salaries in web sphere vary from 30 000 to 120 000 RUR. There are many job offers, mainly from small web studios. There’s a lack of big companies. However, there’s and IT park where many regional IT companies reside.
There are many offers to choose from. Rental fee for a good flat starts from 15 000 RUR.
Crime rate is average. There are some dangerous districts.
It’s easier to get acquainted with Russian girls than with Tatars. The girls are beautiful.
In old buildings the only option is ADSL. The price is affordable.
The region is self-sufficient, but the general economic downturn is noticeable.
