Proximity to the sea: It is best to go to Krasnodar – it’s just 140 km to the Black Sea and 160 km to the Azov Sea. It is also possible to go to Astrakhan – it’s just 80 km to the Caspian Sea. It’s better not to swim in Volga, even though it’s cleaner than the Moskva river or the Don.
Moderate Russian climate, but there have been sudden changes in temperatures recently (±5-10˚С).

As elsewhere in Russia – it is expensive and of a low quality. It is very important to know how to treat yourself.
Most locals don’t speak foreign languages, so foreigners have to learn Russian.
One ticket on public transport costs 20 RUR. The roads are in bad condition, drivers are in general good. There are too many cars in the city (almost as many per square meter as in Moscow), gasoline is expensive, but at the same time it’s cheaper than in Europe.
Travelling abroad: Belarus and Abkhazia require no passport or visa. If you wish to go to other countries you’ll need a passport or even a visa. Russia is immense – it is possible to travel here your whole life.
Moscow Delphinarium comes here from time to time. There’s a water park in Samara, a small zoo, a circus, many cinemas and theaters, clubs with bowling, playgrounds for children in malls. There are Auchan hypermarkets and one IKEA. There are 2 metro lines. It’s hard to speak about the cost of life because prices change quickly now.
Salaries, as well as job requirements are high. It is easier to find freelance work, and salaries there are higher.
Rental fee: 9-15 thousand RUR for a one bedroom flat,13-25 thousand RUR for two-roomed flat. You can’t buy anything for 1 million RUR or lower, but there are offers like “Koshelev-project” – low-quality buildings for old people and asocial people only. For 1,6 – 2,3 mln RUR it is possible to buy a one bedroom flat in old “khrushevka” building, for 1,9 – 2,5 mln RUR it is possible to buy a one bedroom flat in a brick tower block.
Crime rate is low.
There are much more women than men, so the choice is good and competition among them is high.

There have recently been a price increase due to the sharp fall of ruble, the prices are expected to be rising.
