Overall impression

Wonderful. The main advantage is that I can create any working conditions I want. Nothing distracts me from work, any need can be met in minutes. I came here to save money, but in addition to that, I was able to have a standard of living exactly 3 times higher than in Russia.
Seaside: Market prices are very reasonable, supermarket prices are average. A lunch in a cafe costs an average of 3$. Servings are huge, delicious.

Impression of local population

Great, very friendly people, always ready to help without looking in your pocket, which makes then different from Thais.

High humidity, temperature barely varies season to season; average monthly temperature is 27 degrees. Rainy season is during our summer.

There is a university in Kep, but it is more sensible to study in the capital. There are a lot of state, private, both local and foreign, universities and schools to suit all tastes.

Quality of medicine (quality and cost)

Expensive and not of a very high quality. Most visit other countries, when the need arises. Going abroad is trouble-free. Emergency healthcare was fine.

Language (learning of the local language and communication with the local people)

Khmer. Most of the people in touristy cities speak English; it is harder to find English-speaking people farther from such centers. The older generation studied Russian in school, some speak French.
Khmer lessons start at 40$ per week.

Transport (road access, quality of roads, level of driving, gasoline cost, public transportation)

Roads are reasonably good, driving in the city is more or less safe. It is better not to drive outside of the city on your own, since nobody follows driving regulations. Car crashes happen often on motorways. No highways.
There is no public transport in any of the Cambodian cities. It is easier to rent a motorbike at 40$ per month. Petrol costs additional 40$ per month.
Going abroad: decide and go, it is trouble-free.

Prices (cost of living, food, entertainment)

Market prices are very reasonable, supermarket prices are average. A lunch in a cafe costs an average of 3$. Servings are huge, delicious.

Job (search complexity, level of salary)

Jobs are available, a foreigner can find a job easily, but Cambodian salaries will hardly satisfy anyone. Thus, the only normal way is working from home or for an international company present in Cambodia.

Housing (cost, availability, rent, purchase)

Housing is available to suit every taste. A decent single-bedroom or studio in the center of Kep costs 100$ per month. A villa with a swimming pool and a mango grove will cost 400$. There are usually no problems with finding a place to live.

I believe that there is no country more dangerous than Russia. Crime in touristy places is quite well developed. It is absent in towns like Kep, everybody knows everybody here. On the other hand, I’ve wandered all larger Cambodian cities at night and never encountered any trouble, even though it is said, that it is better not to do that.

Women \ men (for dating)

The usual Asian girls. I, personally, don’t find them attractive, even though some are beautiful. Prostitution is widespread, cheaper than in Thailand, no trap-related problems here.

Internet access (availability, price)

12$ per month for unlimited 3Mb/sec, 3G network available, 4G on the way. Full coverage in the country.

The region's economy (crisis, inflation)

Cambodian economy is just starting to recover.
