Proximity to the sea: Volga!!! It is quite dirty, but I guess it will still be possible to swim in it in the next ten years.
It’s ok – there are many students of different nationalities, local people do not offend them.
Local people are Ok, but with their special attitude towards different things.
In winter it’s very cold, in summer it’s very hot. It is only possible to live here in spring and autumn.
There are many universities: Polytechnic university, University of Medicine, Architecture and Construction university, Agricultural university, University of physical education, and Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration.
You should go to private hospitals only. In my opinion, there should be signs near free state hospitals telling “Our medicine is dangerous to your health!”

There are big and small minibuses, they cost from 12 to 45 RUR.
Travelling abroad: only through Moscow, or by bus to other CIS countries.
One person can live for 15000 RUR per month (not including rental fee). The food costs as everywhere in Russia. There’s a symphonic orchestra and an organ in the city. You can swim in Volga or go fishing – the road to the countryside takes only 15 minutes now, after the construction of the new bridge.
You can earn 30000 RUR per month if you are smart enough. Salaries higher are a matter of chance, only if you are lucky.
There are many offers, a flat costs from 10000 RUR per month, private house is even cheaper. Buying apartments is also quite inexpensive.
Walking in the streets at night is safe.
It is easy to find a girl in the city center – on the Alley of Heroes.
Internet is good, but prices are high in comparison with the capital.
Economy is dying. Factories are ineffective, I’ve got no idea why they still operate.
