Overall impression

Very beautiful and calm. Lots of greenery surrounded by canals with ducks, swans, etc. The infrastructure is well-developed: buses, trains (20 minutes away from Amsterdam), supermarkets, shops, restaurants.
Seaside: 30 minutes away by bicycle, 10 minutes by bus.

Overall impression

A social welfare heaven for lazybones, the rest work hard and sustain them.
Seaside: 40-50 minutes away by train, but you won’t get much tan.

Overall impression

The overall impression is that it is way better than I could have expected, having watched the numerous TV shows about universal drug addiction, red-light districts and constant rains (none of which proved to be true).
Seaside: pools of water are everywhere, one is right below my window, but you won’t want/be allowed to swim in all of them. The closest decent beach is 20 minutes by bicycle away.

Overall impression

Clean, humid, polite people, everybody speaks English.
Seaside: the North Sea is 20 minutes away by train, but too cold to swim.
