Overall impression

My lovely decent town, suburb of industrial Akron. Greenery, peace, comfort, a few miles of the best shops, tennis clubs, hunting, wine (!), Horse breeding; Not far - the largest US air base (the sky is lined in lanes); Camp Perry - the best in the country shooting, the main venue of the championships and tournaments. You can visit Cleveland, interesting to nobody,as it’s called- mistake on the lake.
Akron itself is so-so,in my opinion, a factory town, and Fairlawn - is a settlement for the rich and elderly. Small and safe with good relaxed people,it' easy enough to make friends and acquaintance here. I like these small American provincial towns where there are shops more than plants, quiet, comfortable, with friendly life.

Distance to the sea: Far enough. To get to the Lake Erie it takes less than an hour, but in the vicinity of Cleveland there is nothing attractive..
There Is Indian River Kayahoga, you can find a cycling track along it to the Cleveland. There are small rivers, even with small waterfalls. The forest is deciduous, in the autumn it’s very nice.

Attitude to foreigners

With some caution at first. As in any province.

Impression of local population

Americans. Absolutely classic. Canny, a lot of moderately rich with "old money." Not very open, but not snobbish.

Climate

Soft, but with snow in winter. Winter is not cold. Hills covered with continuous trees, only high towers can be visible in some place (water pressure, it is the specificity oF the US). Going on the highway zigzagging between the hills you think about Endor - forest planet :)

Education

University of Akron. Under the authority of the Research Department of the tire empire Firestone. Modernistic campus.

Quality of medicine (quality and cost)

As everywhere in the United States, if you need - I can recommend a good family doctor, from the Germans.

Language (learning of the local language and communication with the local people)

Net American language, after some time the local become opened, cordial and friendly people ... but do not forget about the distance.

Transport (road access, quality of roads, level of driving, gasoline cost, public transportation)

Your own car. The quality of roads - excellent, very little traffic, you can wave to your acquaintances from a car window, gasoline is not expensive.
Traveling to other countries: Remove this point, it is not relevant at all and unnecessary. Well, except to the North Korea.

Prices (cost of living, food, entertainment)

Moderate. There is no "national" food, ie, no Polish, Indian and Mexican eateries. The burgers and apple pie!

Job (search complexity, level of salary)

Ironically, it is of interest to IT. In Akron there are the largest tire factory Firestone, the University. In Fairlawn - the headquarters of Sterling, major jewelry company in the USA. There, you won’t believe, DELPHI is popular.
Many business parks with offices of large companies. Wages is average.

Housing (cost, availability, rent, purchase)

The local people all live in their own homes, scattered in space, with huge land sides and the distance in 5 kilometer to the nearest neighbor. They keep thoroughbred horses. Very popular is the shop selling tractors and and accessories. It' s like "Belarus" in miniature.
Rent is not cheap , despite the fact that it is a province. It is a rich province, housing is of very decent quality. One bedroom house costs appr. $ 1,100. With garage, court, swimming pool; you go out on the balcony and admire the greens going far beyond the horizon, the signing birds. . What more is needed?

Crime

No criminality.

The region's economy (crisis, inflation)

In general it’ is in growth.Moderate growth.
The main thing is if you need bucolic, ecology, modern facilities and quiet comfortable life – Fairlawn is better than you can imagine.
